Now My Love’s an Open Door – Part 1/3
I have a reading today (Nov. 21, 2014) with Archangel Michael, which will answer many of the team’s questions that have arisen over the last month.
I find myself looking forward to it and remembering some of the humorous and tender moments we’ve had in the past.
I’m able to spend an hour a month talking with him about matters related to the blog, the Hope Chest, Inlight Radio and my personal life. But during that hour he infuses me with hope and joy.
I feel drawn to say that it’s been my deepest privilege to have worked for and with Archangel Michael.
Some people say, “Well, what if it turns out that the person you speak to on An Hour with an Angel is not Archangel Michael? What are you going to do then?”
Probably smile seraphically.
Whether or not I’m talking to Archangel Michael, the real Archangel Michael knows I work for him.
Moreover, the voice that speaks through Linda Dillon on An Hour with an Angel and in my personal readings is so wise, so consistent, and so compassionate that I’d listen to it under practically any circumstances. I cannot imagine that it isn’t an archangel … and isn’t him.
I’d like to take you backstage to listen in on some of the more revealing exchanges with the one I call “Lord.”
Too Many Questions
Archangel Michael has a playful – I’m tempted to say “human” – side. He often teases. Here he’s teasing me about my endless questions at our readings:
SB: I guess I’d better start asking questions.
AAM: Dear heart, the world could end and a new universe begin and you would still have questions. It is part of the delight of who you are.
I do not say this in any way to bring you down. Understand even if you were in – and you are, you know, you just don’t know that you know – the fullness of your being, in the fullness of your awareness, you would still be asking questions about the next step.
SB: (Laughter.) At times I get the feeling that there are no more questions I need to ask.
AAM: You get it in moments and then you have a rest and then you devise new questions. It is like a cat lying in the sun enjoying the bliss until a mouse passes by. (1)
I must be in the right field, for asking questions.
I once asked him to confirm that he anticipated my questions. Listeners on An Hour with an Angel will know that I have on occasion pointed out how he just answered a question that I’d written down earlier. I point this out because, in my early years in British spiritualism, one was encouraged to “test” the spirits and look for evidence of the truth or non-truth of phenomena. His answering my questions before I ask him is considered “evidential.”
He responded, teasingly: “Well, let us say that we are very close.” What did he mean?
“We share telepathically and energetically, more than anything, a knowing of what is going on, a commonality of our hearts and minds. So yes, there is a knowing, but there is also the importance of the human factor.
“Because we want this to be an exchange, a conversation. I do not always simply wish for you to come and to hear what I have to say, because it is just as important in our closeness and in our love that you express the yearnings and feelings of your heart.” (2)
Just imagine your boss saying that to you. Imagine how you’d feel. I felt exhilarated to hear that he cares how I feel.
Tender in His Love
Archangel Michael is very tender in his love. I was devastated when Ascension did not happen as I expected it on Dec. 21, 2012. Linda gave me a reading with him a few days later, which I came to feeling discouraged and depressed. His first words to me were:
“I’m asking you, no, not as public figure, but as a friend, before we even begin, to come and to sit with me in sacred union … to relinquish and give to me any concern, dismay, despair, anything that is not of wholeness. I come this day fully prepared, my friend, to speak to you and to answer your queries.” (3)
Given that a sudden Ascension did not occur on Dec. 21, 2012 and my questions were pretty conflicted, his reassurance disarmed me.
But I was still into testing him more, feeling uncertain whether I should continue after so great a disappointment. I asked if he was aware of a conversation that another member of the team had just had with Grener. He replied: “I am aware of pieces of it, yes. I do not eavesdrop on every conversation.” (4)
I was surprised because I thought he heard everything anyone ever said, such was my idea of an archangel.
I asked him to repeat what he had heard and, even though he said he had not listened in, he was able to repeat the conversation almost verbatim. That was impressive, an eye-opener. That did help build confidence.
And the acknowledgment that archangels do not eavesdrop on any conversation was also a welcome insight into life wherever he calls home, the great Transcendental. Our picture of the Archangels must, for the moment, be built from mere word glimpses like these.
On this same occasion, when I wanted to castigate someone for 21/12/12, I began to list my grumbles like a hurt child. “And another thing,” I might as well have said.
One of my grumbles was that I hadn’t received his darshan (the vision of him) as he had promised me years earlier. His answer again astonished me and deepened my knowledge: “For my full presence to suddenly apparit [appear] would probably cause you to drop dead.”
Well, that was revealing but I wouldn’t stop my grumbling yet. I laughed and said sardonically that death could have its advantages. He responded: “Yes, it would,” and reminded me: “But that is not our plan.” (5)
How much more gently could a person say “no,” even to a request – a mere consolation prize – that comes at the moment of his bitterest disappointment? If I could convey to you how meaningful these moments have been to me, I’d have to use a finer tool than the written word.
