“You Talked To Me” – Lucia Sullivan

“You Talked To Me”

” You talked to me where the wounds had left holes in your soul.
You spoke in foreign tongues of negative and hopeless voices.
I told you to leave them alone or they would stretch bigger.
But you refused.
Those voices had taken a strong hold.
You lived there.
I mimicked you a time or two.
I heard your voice in my despair.
I reminded myself of your madness and I quickly became a seamstress of the wounded area.
I still believe,
You could be sewn up.
By a miraculous hand .
With a needle so fine and true,
That not even you,
Could pick apart the stitches.
I have envisioned your transformation a thousand times.
Back home.
Back to life.
And in that bridge too far,
Is hope.
And that,
That is my one and only voice. “
